About this Role
Calling all lovers of interior design - this is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor and develop Summer’s home aesthetic from the ground up. We are looking for a rockstar designer who has the know-how and hustle to create develop and execute Summer’s home design strategy - from creating our brand aesthetic and collections to building out install playbooks and forging brand partnerships - this individual will report directly into our Head of Design and play a vital role in shaping the look and feel of Summer homes nationally.
You will:
Use your proficient knowledge of commercial interior design, architecture, development and overall project management to execute all projects in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.
Remain up to date on trends and technologies, codes and standards, and best practices in hospitality and residential design to ensure all buildings are opened to the company’s high standards.
Manage the installation and openings processes of our portfolio of properties from acquisitions to openings: including, but not limited to - property condition assessment, managing renovations, supporting design, directing all property systems installation, utilities hookups, overseeing the furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) fitout, and coordinating photoshoots until each property is guest ready and live.
Collaborate with the Head of Design + Installation to develop a design concept/mood and execution plan from the prospecting phase through openings.
Ensure all project designs meet the company brand standards, knowing how to creatively adjust to align with the commercial and budgetary needs of the project.
Partner with the team to identify and select products that meet brand standards.
Assist Construction and Operations to plan, execute, and control projects, managing projects entirely from start to finish.
Generate and manage FF&E matrices and supply chain to ensure product is sourced, ordered, and arrives at the property on time.
Monitor execution during Installation to ensure the design concept is maintained through project installation.
Maintain databases and information flow, ensuring project information is communicated to key stakeholders.
Work cross-functionally with acquisitions and operations to see projects from concept to opening.
Prepare monthly project reports and consistently communicate project status to all relevant stakeholders on both HQ and city teams.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture
6-8 years in high-end Hospitality, Residential, Commercial and/or Retail Interior Design
Extremely organized and able to coordinate information and tasks for multiple projects.
Experience working with both technical (e.g., building IT, tech/product) and non-technical (e.g., operations, legal, interior design) teams.
Willingness to roll-up sleeves to dive into the details.
Passion for real estate development, hospitality, and design.
Great collaborator and communicator - excellent verbal and written skills are a must!
Self-starter; able to work independently without supervision
A perfectionist, obsessing over all the details
Travel as needed to visit properties, work with our city teams, and monitor project progress.
Proficient in the following programs: Google Suite, MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, SKETCHUP, AutoCAD, and Revit.
